FINE, I'LL FIX CLAN WARS

I think many people are missing the point when it comes to clan wars. They don't know why the concept actually sucks, yet they say it almost every time they speak. Remember Clan Wars 1? What was the most common gripe which led to Supercell making a change? "This is boring. It's not fun. It's a chore" The answer to all of CW's problems lie right there. THEY HAVE TO BE FUN. Now, lets look at CW2. Ignore all the "bonus" problems of starting times and card levels, they just add to the main problem, and that main problem is that CW2 is simply doing 4 battles in 24 hours. Nothing else. Where is the fun in that? I look forward to the Global Tourney because I am aiming for a goal and every battle is crucial to me. Thus, from that challenge, comes the fun. This is the only reason ladder works too. Then I run golem and somebody using pekka, inferno tower, inferno dragon, mini pekka and barbs, destroys my fun. Alas, such is the nature of the beast and there is nothing we can do about that. So, how do we add fun to CW? How do we make people feel nervous, challenged and excited to take part? My solution is the exclusive Grampa Ivy Challenge Board, a concept I promise I did not steal from the Hay Day Pop Team. I want to get paid when you bring this in, Drew. Here it is, in a simplified version just to help you understand how it works* *with incorrect spelling of "duel" because I had "dual battles" in my head when making this. UGH, so triggered.

How it works: A clan war starts. Each clan has their own challenge board. We still work with the unique 4 deck policy. In a 24 hour period, you can take on any of the challenges from the board to earn your clan fame. There is no finishing line for the boats. The winning clan is determined by the amount of fame you earn. Trailing by too far? Take on the high risk challenges to make quick ground. Have a comfortable lead? Play it safe. This system eliminates the advantage some clans have due to time zones. Every single clan is afforded the same five 24 hour windows to earn as much fame as possible, with all decks only being able to be used ONCE in the 24 hour window. No double chances. HOWEVER, just like the old system of balancing the numbers used in CW1, clans with fewer members are given bonus deck resets to match the clan with the highest number of members. There are also options for players who don't have high card levels to contribute via the tourny standard battles. Above is just a simple board I quickly whipped up, as I said, to demonstrate the concept. I suggest a board with far more options and then there will be something in it for everybody. If you tackle a blitz defence, you have to defeat the 3 turrets with your 4 decks. Thus, you can scout an enemy boat and their various defences, then select one to tackle which you think suits your decks. In other words, we are now being creative and challenged. There is risk and risk is fun. I also think there can be bonus fame rewards like '+100 fame if 5 clan members are watching when you win" and '-100 fame if 5 clan members are watching when you lose' Imagine spectators having to choose whether to stay or bail. Chests are awarded according to finishing order. THE COLOSSEUM I think I have an answer for the Colosseum which means the 5th place clan can still win. Lets imagine the river race has finished with the following fame scores: Grampa Gaming: 36,500 Drew's Deadbeats: 32,800 Joshua is Craaap: 25,500 Abandon Seth: 24,900 The Imposters: 18,000 A new challenge board greats everybody in the Colosseum. Each player gets to choose one challenge. This board contains many fun options like 'Win a Battle using Ebarbs Rage' Now, before this Colosseum stage begins, the clan leader will enter an amount his clan is willing to gamble of their current fame. The Imposters, in last place already, would obviously gamble all of their fame. What do they have to lose. The other clans have to make careful choices. Gamble too little and you can get overtaken by a clan which risks a lot. Gamble too much and you can drop down if you do not complete the challenge board objective. This gamble result is then determined by the challenge board objective, which might be 65% wins. So if you have 50 members, to win your gamble, 33 members must complete their challenge. Once every leader has entered the gamble amount, all clans can then see that amount and the current progress of the other clans. Eg., "Grampa Gaming has currently won 16 of 21 challenges attempted. They have 23 attempts remaining" Sounds like fun to me.
